Smudge Wand Making Class
October 1 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

Make a smudge wand of your own and learn how to use it with intention, in a small, hands-on class with Melissa Butler.
Smoke clearing is an old practice, carried by Native American traditions for generations. The idea is that smoke can carry away what no longer serves us and draw blessing in its place. The feather or fan represents air, one of the four sacred elements alongside fire, water, and earth. Its job is to guide the smoke with purpose.
In this class, you’ll build your own smudge wand from turkey feathers generously donated by Carlyn’s Animal Sanctuary. You’ll go home with a wand you made yourself and a simple understanding of how to use it in your own sage clearing practice.
In this class, you’ll:
- Learn the meaning behind the feather and its role in smoke clearing
- Craft your own smudge wand, step by step
- Learn simple ways to use your wand with intention at home
