This month, we’re heading to Usery Mountain for a steady climb up the Wind Cave Trail.

It’s a 3.2-mile round-trip hike with a gradual incline and a beautiful payoff—panoramic desert views and a shaded alcove at the top. We’ll take our time on the way up, then pause at the cave for snacks and a short rest before making our way back down.

Expect some rocky sections and a bit more elevation than our last hike, but nothing technical. As always, wear good shoes, bring plenty of water, and come prepared for sunshine.

Note: This trail is within Maricopa County park land, so there is a $10 entrance fee per vehicle.
