Clearing old karma is the perfect way to enter the final month of the year. December is about completion—energetically, spiritually, and emotionally. This whole year, 2025, has carried that vibration. Two plus zero plus two plus five equals nine, and nine is the number of completion. So here we are—in the last month of a year designed for that very thing.
Let’s clear the energy. Let’s clear the karma.
So earlier today, I was at home. We had a really full weekend—my husband’s family was in town, and it was just nonstop activities. Every day it felt like there was something. So today, I was like, I have to get my act together. I have to reorient myself.
And I thought, the best thing I could do was to come to the studio and meditate for quite a while. So I did some mantras, and then I just sat here—and it was amazing. The space that opened up in my body helped me get really clear. And I thought: this is how we begin this month of completion.
We start by completely clearing out our energy.
And Om Mani Padme Hum is the easiest way to do that.
For those of you who’ve never done Om Mani Padme Hum—it’s lovely. When we chant it, it’s like “the jewel of the lotus flower.” But energetically, what we’re doing is clearing up our karma.
So tonight, we set an intention:
What karma have I accumulated during this year, and how can I let that go?
If there were a magic wand—or a magic eraser—that could wipe away the negative karma from this year, wouldn’t you want to use it? That would be the happiest thing ever, right?
Intention is everything. That’s what causes karma—not just action. It’s the intention behind it.
Sometimes we say dumb things. We trip over our tongues. We’re hurtful, but we don’t mean to be. You’re not going to generate bad karma for that.
But if you’re repetitively doing that—if you’re lazy in your thinking and you’re aware of it and not doing anything about it—then you’re generating bad karma.
For example, today Quint was telling me something he learned, and I immediately jumped in with, “Oh yeah, that’s just like what I told you…” You know, like I needed a stroke or something to feel smart. And I saw his whole disposition change. I wanted to suck the words right back in.
But the cool thing is, we have the kind of relationship where he can call me out immediately, and I can apologize immediately—and then we’re good. I also bought him cookies, so I’m hoping that helped too.
So yes, we mess up. But karma is about your intention and whether your actions align with your heart.
If you’re honest in your business, and you make a mistake—you didn’t create bad karma. You’re a good person who goofed up.
But if you’re constantly trying to get away with things, or cutting corners, or being dishonest—then yes, you’re generating bad karma.
This stuff is not complicated. The world makes it complicated, but it’s really not.
Just be decent. Let your actions follow your intentions.
You’ve heard that phrase: “The road to hell is paved with good intentions.” That’s because your actions have to follow those intentions. Otherwise, it’s just talk.
When we do that other meditation—the one where we take on the suffering of others—that creates more good karma than feeding every homeless person three meals a day. Why? Because intention creates energetic merit.
You don’t even have to physically “do” something big. Even taking a moment to meditate for someone else—that’s an action.
In our Reiki group, people will ask for Reiki sometimes, and I always say:
You don’t need to do a big, long session. You can simply set the intention that the person receives what they need.
That’s enough.
I hope I’m making this clear: it’s not hard to be a good person. You don’t have to put pressure on yourself.
It’s also not hard to be a jerk.
The difference is intention.
Are you showing up? Are you trying?
For me, my dharma practice is simple:
Leave the world a better place. That’s it.
And I screw up all the time. I forget to text people back. I get annoyed in traffic—oh my gosh, if you knew how I used to be!
I’ve gotten so much better. I used to wish I had a foam finger to use while driving (you can imagine…). Now I’m really proud of myself. But I still get impatient. I still say things I regret.
That’s just life.
But I also know: everyone in this room is a spiritually realized being. Just the fact that you’re here proves it.
Tonight, we chanted to clear old karma—to move into this last stretch of 2025 with fresh, open energy.
We used our malas in the right hand, with the positive fingers. Our hands are like little batteries—positive, negative, positive, negative, positive. There’s a current that runs through them.
So we held our malas with the intention to reset our field.
We chanted.
And then we dropped into silence.

The holidays are weird. There’s just a heaviness that comes up this time of year.
Some of it is grief. Some is financial stress. Some is family stuff. Some people are alone and wish they weren’t. Some people are with family and wish they weren’t. We always want what we don’t have.
I believe as we make this trip around the sun, we come into a cloud of funky energy. So we have to clear what we can—emotionally, energetically—so we can go into the month neutral.
Not overly excited. Not bummed out.
Just neutral. Present.
We live in Arizona in the prettiest time of the year. That’s amazing.
So just… enjoy the moment.
Chris and I drive a lot, and there’s this one road—somewhere around Gold Canyon—we used to argue on every single time we drove it.
But not on I-17. Not to Tucson. Just that one road.
And I started to realize—we were leaving behind energetic signals. Every time we fought there, we reinforced it.
So one day I said, No more. I had Thaw in the car, and I was Reiki-ing the whole strip. We haven’t fought on that road since.
That’s what we’re doing here. We’re clearing those energetic imprints—before they repeat themselves again.
I really wanted us to clear what we could—so we can enjoy this month for what it is.
Set your intention:
Enjoy the moment.
Be here now.
Let everything else unfold day by day.
