What is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese technique that involves energy healing to promote relaxation and stress relief. This is based on the belief that a person’s “life force energy” must remain high in order to stay healthy and happy.
What is involved in a Reiki treatment?
When given Reiki treatment, practitioners place their hands near the client’s body in a series of strategic positions. Each position is held for several minutes while the client lies in a relaxed position on a massage table. Each session usually lasts between 45 and 90 minutes. How does Reiki work?
A person is believed to have a life force flowing through their body through pathways called chakras, meridians, and nadis. Reiki, in simple terms, uses positive energy to break apart disruptions in these pathways so a person remains healthy and balanced.
What is meditation?
Meditation is a practice where a person uses mindfulness or a focusing technique to achieve clarity, peace, and the ability to remain in the present moment.
When should I meditate?
The best time to meditate is when you can stick with it consistently, and it works for you. That said, many people choose to practice meditation in the morning when their mind is clear and distractions are at a minimum.
How long should I meditate?
Most people meditate for between 15 and 45 minutes, but beginners can start with a much shorter length of time. If you’re starting out, aim for five minutes of meditation, and as you gain practice, you can increase your time spent in meditation. We offer meditation classes for people of all experience levels.
